This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially aware finance professional looking to step into a broad, hands-on role with real influence across the business.


๐Ÿ’ผ The Opportunity

As Accounting Manager, you will take ownership of financial reporting, controls, and operational finance processes, while leading and developing a high-performing accounts team.

Youโ€™ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the finance function, working closely with senior stakeholders and external advisors.


๐Ÿ”‘ Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes
  • Produce accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Ensure robust balance sheet control and reconciliations
  • Manage VAT returns and ensure HMRC compliance
  • Act as the main point of contact for external audit
  • Oversee payroll processes and ensure compliance
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and controls

  • Manage, mentor, and develop the Accounts team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to support decision-making
  • Play a key role in strengthening financial governance and controls

โœ… About You

  • AAT qualified or above (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards (UK GAAP/FRS 102)
  • Proven experience in financial reporting and audit processes
  • Experience managing month-end/year-end cycles
  • Strong understanding of AP/AR and payroll oversight
  • Advanced Excel and accounting systems experience
  • A confident leader with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
